About Moonlighting Lampworks

Hi, my name is Matt Clarke. I was born in Charlottesville, Virginia and currently reside in Lyons, Colorado. I have had an amazing and satisfying career working with wood. I started with timber frame houses and refined my skills with custom furniture in Santa Fe, a passion I still enjoy. I've cut, carved, and molded fine wood products for nearly 30 years.

In the past decade, my art has been focused on the sculpting of wood veneers into organic forms and shapes. I am continually fascinated by the endless combinations of wood grain, light penetration, and color collages in each of my lights. By hand-carving and hand-molding veneers into lamps and wall sconces, a personality emerges in each piece.
